Announcing NEHA Research Grant

NEHA Research Grant Members of the Board of Directors of the New England Historical Association are pleased to announce that the first annual NEHA research grant will be awarded in February 2024. The NEHA research grant will provide up to $1,250 in a one-time grant to help them meet the costs of travel and research at archives, libraries, museums, parks, and other historical sites. In Memory: Peter Holloran

NEHA acknowledges with sadness the recent passing of NEHA member and former executive officer Peter Holloran (1947-2023). Dr. Holloran was a Vietnam veteran and social historian in the area of 19th century American History, including the history of child welfare services, history of immigration and labor movements, and the American Civil War. He was the author of Boston’s Wayward Children: Social Services for Homeless Children, 1830-1930; Historical Dictionary of New England; and Historical Dictionary of the Progressive Era.
